The Weight of Almost Knowing

An Anthology of Arizona Voices

Twenty-five Arizona authors. Twenty-five new works that explore the theme of curiosity.

The Weight of Almost Knowing captures familiar moments that define us—the simple joys we cherish, the difficult truths we face, and the million shades of emotion that exist between.

These works of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry explore what we chase, what we flee from, and what slips through our fingers despite our best efforts.

Each piece stands on a precipice: a moment of internal wondering. Many live at a crossroads where a choice can change everything. From the Arizona desert to the landscapes of memory, these voices illuminate the profound weight of an exhale.

Where Your Money Goes When You Buy Our Book — And What to Expect

Every 2025 anthology purchased helps us continue to offer free and low-cost programming to support Arizona authors. A portion of your purchase price covers printing and/or file delivery costs. Distribution platforms (like Amazon and Ingram for print and Draft2Digital for our ebook) also take a percentage. Here’s what POP receives when you pay the full retail price at these places:

Print Edition: $18.99

Ingram - Ingram is how traditional brick & mortar bookstores, including popups, get their books. Those bookstores might bring in print copies to sell in their stores. More often, the title will be available for order on their website, and they will bring in a copy for you when you hit ‘purchase.’ POP makes roughly $6 per sale of an Ingram-version print copy. The Ingram print version feels polished and the cover colors are vibrant. You will find the Ingram print version of our anthology at:

Amazon - Amazon is a huge marketplace, and helps us reach outside of Arizona as well. When compared to the Ingram print version, Amazon’s cover isn’t as vibrant and the quality is a little less polished, but it’s easy to order, delivery is fast, and it’s still awesome. POP makes roughly $8 per sale. Click here to go to our listing!

Ebook Edition: $5.99

POP makes roughly $3 per sale of our Ebook. You can find it on Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Smashwords, kobo, and Apple Books. We work with Draft2Digital on everything but the Amazon version of the Ebook. The digital file is exactly the same on all platforms.

Libraries: Free to you!

Libraries often choose their books from Ingram’s catalog. We are doing outreach to local libraries to see if they will include us in their local print collections. Next time you’re at an AZ library, ask if they have The Weight of Almost Knowing anthology. (Every request helps!)

Thank you for reading local and shopping local!
